Under 10 BDO Simpson Xavier Cup
This year the Munster Branch decided to run a new format for the Under 10 Munster Cup. In previous years a club entered a team with 3 girls and 3 boys, however with the "Passport Rule" it was proving quite difficult for all clubs to enter teams.Therefore this year we decided to leave the entry open to all under 10 players from all clubs. Once all participants had entered we put the players into fair and competitive teams. The teams are tiered so all players have competitive matches at thier level. This has proven to be very successful in all under 9 and under 10 team events.
This year we had 24 entrants which we were very happy with and we hope that this number grows into the future.
We had 4 Teams with 6 players on each team. Every player got two singles matches and 2 doubles matches. The usual rules applied, starting at 2-2, the point after deuce wins the game and they are short sets, first to 6, no tie-break. If a third set occurs then a championship tie-break (first to 10) is played.
